Head Coach: Bob McCarter, 495-7363, BobHMcCarter@aol.com

Team Manager:

Normal practice days: Monday through Friday

Starting with the daylight savings changeover practice will be 5:00 to 6:15 or even to 6:30 for field events or extra help on relays, hurdles or blocks etc.

I and the other experienced coaches look forward, as always, to being pleasantly impressed by the 2008 group. Most everyone will quickly pick up the form, strength & coordination drills & begin progressing in the skills.  You may not all be at the same level but you should all be pleased with your progress, I am sure your coaches will be.

You will be expected to attend / participate in a minimum of 3 practices a week, if you can't do that or are doing another sport at the same time PLEASE TALK with me and I will consider a 2 practice schedule for you.  You are welcome to attend all 5 if you wish.

Please be aware that your ability is important and I have appreciation for it but your interest, effort & determination to improve is even more important.

Varsity finals information.

May 17, 2008, It seems a long way off but if you want to be in the finals the time to get ready is NOW.

TRACK MEETS:     When You arrive at the track look for a BLUE CANOPY WITH  A RED, WHITE AND BLUE "T. O. FLYERS" BANNER ON IT.

1. CHECK IN ON THE ROLL CALL SHEET, LIKE  MARK THAT YOU CAME.

2. CHECK THE SEED SHEET AND GET YOUR EVENT TAGS, ONLY anchor NEEDS A RELAY TAG.

3. ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE ABOUT WHEN, WHERE & HOW ETC.

4. LOOK AT THE "WARM UP FOR EVENTS" LIST POSTED & APPROXIMATE TIMES FOR EVENTS.

5. YOU MAY  ADD, CHANGE OR DROP EVENTS WHEN YOU CHECK IN BUT GET MY OK FIRST.

Approximate time for events:

Note: Normal time to start warming-up for an event is at least 1/2 hour before.

3200 (2 mile) -- arrive at 8:00 for warm up.

100 hurdles -- arrive at 8:15 for a good hurdle warm up.

4 x 100 relay -- arrive by 9:00 for warm up & to verify all 4 of the team is there

From here on time may very by 1/2 to 1 hour, plan for earliest case, you will need 30 min's for warm-up & to check in.    My best guess is as follows:

1600 (mile) -- about 10:00, arrive at 9:30 for warm up

 400 (1/4 mile) -- 11:15,    100 -- 11:40;    800 -- 12:30;    200 -- 1:15;    4 x 400 -- 1:45
