We're sorry if you missed out on sign ups for the 2008 season. All age groups filled up before the first sign up closed. The response was so strong that the wait list is full too.

Because of the interest in our club we will continue to work toward forming a second Thousand Oaks or Westlake team.  At present we need another facility and a volunteer board. We can then form another great Track Club, If you are willing to helping form that great Club, Contact me through the web sight or call Bob @ 495-7363.

The Thousand Oaks Flyers Youth Track & Field Club is a member of the Ventura County Youth Track Conference.
The Conference limits clubs to 275 maximum athletes.

 Sign-ups   

* Date: Sat. Jan 19th from 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM

* Place: Thousand Oaks Teen Center (on Janss Road between the free way &The Library)

* Cost:   $90 for each participant  #

(Cost includes uniform, participation in practices and meets, all awards and end of season picnic with picture and trophy)

(Cost does not cover transportation to meets or running shoes)

# Limited financial help may be available.

* Information required:  Childs name, Birth date, Emergency information

(such as Insurance carrier, Doctor's Name & phone number & alternate contact person)

You will also need to specify uniform sizes so know the size or bring the child, we will have samples to use for sizing.

Sweats: Orders will be taken for optional team sweats. Pants, tops or hooded tops are available at reasonable prices.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION             

Parent orientation meeting is  Wednesday, February 6 at The Goebel Senior Center, 7:15 to 8:45.   A short Club information session followed by introduction of Team coaches and questions and answers period.

 Practices: Practices will be from 5 – 6 PM, Mon – Fri at T. O. High Schools all weather track. Typically 2 to 3 practices per week will be required of your athlete.  Not all teams will meet on all 5 days. Call or check your coaches link.  Note; After daylight savings time starts some older teams may sometimes extent practice to 6:15 or 6:30.

Meets: There will be 6 regular meets starting March 29th and ending May 3th

                  The Jr. Varsity finals are May 10th @ Newbury Park H. S.

                 The Varsity finals are May 17 @ Moorpark High.

                 The season concludes with an awards picnic May 18th.

Post season Competition: Regional and national meets are also available for those interested but they have additional costs in the form of meet fees of $5 per event & USATF membership of $15.00. Training for those meets will be arranged to suit those who wish to participate and the availability of facilities.

Post Season includes ages 9 through 18 year olds.

 PARENT PARTICIPATION         

The T O Flyers, and all the Conference Clubs, are volunteer organizations with no paid employees. A parent, Guardian or their representative from each family is required to help out with the clubs operation.  This is done in one of the following ways:  work at least one 3 – 4 hour shift at each of the three home meets or work as an assistant coach (help at practices on at least 2 days per week, (no experience required) or work as a board member or help with computer data entering/processing data or as a team parent organizing callers, processing ribbons etc.

* Those of Intermediate age may not participate in both Club and High School track  BUT CAN COMPETE in post season competition after the High School season ends.

Coaching help needed includes those experienced in High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put & Hurdles, if you can commit to one or more practices per week we need you.  We also need helpers for each team to keep things organized at practices. We also need helpers to run with the distance boys and girls, both slow & fast runners are needed for safe, controlled longer runs.
